The other night I was singing bedtime songs to my two year old son when out of the blue he says "mommy, I need cough medicine, I'm sick". I tell him he isn't sick and doesn't need cough medicine. He replies with and emphatic, "but mommy, I neeeeeed cough medicine". I tell him that he doesn't have a cough or runny nose so therefore he does not need it. He says, "mommy, if you give me cough medicine I promise to get a cough." It was so funny. I love that he is at this great age where he can express his own thoughts.

Re: Cough Medicine
Thu, June 7, 2007 - 9:38 AMLOL - I was complaining of a headache a few days ago and used it as an excuse not to do something my son wanted of me. Day before yesterday I asked my son to please explain an episode at school. He put his hand to his forehead and replied dramatically, "I can't now Mommy, I have a burning headache!"
They learn from example.
